Daniel Sturridge’s Liverpool Return Could Mean Quiet Window For Reds Fans

Striker’s comeback could force Brendan Rodgers to re-evaluate transfer plans.

The return of Daniel Sturridge could have an impact on Liverpool in more ways than one as he could force the club to rethink their transfer policy in the new year, according to the Daily Express.

The England star has been missing since August 31 through thigh and calf problems and has recently been to the United States to undergo extensive treatment.

He has been receiving specialist treatment in Los Angeles and now Boston where he has seen medics affiliated to the Boston Red Sox.

With his rehab going well, Brendan Rodgers has already hinted that there could be limited action in the transfer window, though he is still interested in speeding up Divock Origi’s return to the club from his loan spell at Lille.

“Daniel will come back into the country in early January to finalise his rehab and we hope he will be ready towards the middle and end of January,” said Rodgers.

“There won’t be much activity for us in January. We brought in a lot of players in the summer who we feel can develop. My job is to coach and manage the players who are here and maximise that talent.”
