Liverpool look like missing out on the loan capture of out-of-favour Chelsea full-back Ryan Bertrand because the west London club are believed to be unhappy with how their Premier League rivals have utilised Victor Moses during the wide man’s own loan stint at Anfield so far this season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Reds have made the capture of a new left back their number one priority of the January transfer window after the long-term knee injury sustained by first-choice left-sided full-back Jose Enrique, with the Spaniard still expected to be out of action until at least February.

However, the Merseyside giants’ hopes of being able to persuade the Blues to loan them England international Bertrand now appear to be over after the Uefa Europa League holders expressed their displeasure at how Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers has been utilising another Chelsea player so far this campaign, Nigerian winger Moses.

Moses moved to Anfield on transfer deadline day back in September, with the player agreeing to join the Reds on a season-long loan, however, the 23-year-old has since struggled to win a regular starting berth in the Liverpool midfield, starting just six league matches under Rodgers.
