Sources in Italy have linked the 26-year-old with a move to Anfield for several months now, and believe that Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is finally set to make an offer for his services this month.
Candreva is currently billed as one of Lazio’s star players and is holding down a spot in the Italian national team ahead of this summer’s World Cup and is considered as a solid, reliable midfielder whose versatility can see him perform either on the wing or in a more central position.
However, any move for the player is complicated by the fact that both Lazio and fellow Serie A side Udinese both own 50% of his rights, making negotiations more difficult.
Lazio had been planning to offer £7m to gain his complete ownership, but they may now face competition from Liverpool, especially as they are pushing for a top four finish this term.
But Rodgers will need to move quickly if he wants to bring him on board, as an impressive World Cup may see his valuation go through the roof.
