If accurate this is certainly a move that not many would have predicted and whilst a wave of other sources have reported on this breaking news there has been no official confirmation of a deal being struck.
Old Trafford boss David Moyes could certainly be looking for fresh central defensive options given that Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic are both out of contract in the summer, and also due to the fact that two other possible central defensive options, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, arguably perform better in alternative roles.
Dante is into his second season at the Allianz Arena and played a pivotal role in the Bavarian club’s treble winning campaign last term, making 45 appearances in all competitions and one would imagine he would not be a player boss Pep Guardiola would be looking to lose.
Bayern Munich have conceded just eight goals in 15 Bundesliga fixtures this season and this is down in no small part to the consistent displays by the talented Brazilian international and as such a move away from the German giants to join Man United would certainly come as something of a surprise.
