Aston Villa are set to embark on an ambitious plot to sign young Barcelona forward Jean Marie Dongou on loan for the remainder of the season, according to reports in the Metro.

The 18-year-old is a product of the club’s highly acclaimed youth system and has scored goals at will for several of their young side’s in recent seasons.
He is already a Cameroon under-20 international and has already been coined as ‘the new Samuel Eto’o’ because of his power, pace and prowess in front of goal – and Villa are hoping to be able to strike a deal to bring him on board until the end of the season.
Manager Paul Lambert is hoping that his reputation for developing young talent will be enough to make Barca consider letting him leave the club on a short term deal.
The player first came to Lambert’s attention during last season’s NextGen Series tournament, which Villa won, but saw Dongou crowned as the top scorer but scouts also went to see him grab an assist in the side’s Copa Del Rey clash with FC Cartagena in December.
Barca have baan careful when loaning out their young stars in recent season’s, but Villa are hoping that a deal could begin a partnership between the two.
