GK) David de Gea – 5

Couldn’t do anything about the first goal, and was largely a spectator as United dominated the bottom placed team in the league. Parried Kieren Richardson’s shot late on though, which led to the second goal.

RB) Rafael – 6

Provided a constant outlet up the right flank, but his impressive delivery wasn’t taken advantage of by United’s front line. Faded late on, but was one of United’s better performers.

DC) Chris Smalling – 6

Regularly stepped out of defence into midfield, to hep start United attacks, and did so with little fuss. He doesn’t provide the commanding quality United truly need at centre-half though.

DC) Nemanja Vidic – 6

Should definitely have scored with a header in the first-half, but proved he is still very much committed to the cause with three crunching tackles, despite the fact he is leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.

DL) Patrice Evra – 5

The Frenchman is not the player he once was. Granted, he did get up and down the left flank with aplomb, but his final delivery was consistently poor.
