Put in countless crosses, and worked very hard for his side. With Fulham deploying such a rigid defensive formation though, he arguably lacked the guile to unlock them.
AM/FC) Wayne Rooney – 5
Was at fault for Steve Sidwell’s Fulham opener, and seemed frustrated in his deeper attacking midfield role. Rooney and van Persie have failed to reignite their partnership that was so dangerous last season.
FC) Robin van Persie – 6
Scored his third goal in third games following his return, but should have definitely added to his tally throughout the match. United will need him on top form if they are going to challenge for the top four.
