The 25-year-old only joined the defending Serie A champions last summer after impressing for cross-city rivals Torino, but already appears as though he could be on the move at the end of the season as he has failed to establish himself in Antonio Conte’s plans this term.
Liverpool had been linked with his signature prior to his move to Juventus, but they were joined by fellow Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United in their interest, though the latter two have now reportedly moved on to other targets.
Rodgers made several new additions to his back line last summer with the likes of Kolo Toure and Mamadou Sakho coming on board, though the pair have been less than convincing.
“I think we’ll make at least one signing in that area this summer,” a Liverpool insider revealed.
“Ogbonna is one we’ve looked at before and it looks like he might be an option again with his current situation at Juventus.”
Ogbonna has made only ten appearances for his new side this season, but has been adding steadily to his quota of caps for the national side and is widely expected to head to the World Cup this summer.
