The highly-rated attacking midfielder has been a long time target for David Moyes with many sources claiming that a big money bid is being prepared for the end of the season.
Kroos enjoyed a starring role in Bayern’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal in the Champions League on Wednesday, and showed exactly why United have be so keen to bring him on board. Moyes was in attendance at the Emirates to see him notch the first goal in the first leg victory and Kroos’ performance will undoubtedly force the United boss to make his move.
However, Bayern have said that they are determined to keep the 24-year-old at the club by any means necessary.
His current deal runs until 2015 and as of yet no deal for an extension has been agreed and he continues to face competition from the likes of Javi Martinez, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Thomas Muller and Thiago Alcantara for a spot in the starting line up.
But despite the competition, Guardiola claims that the German international is happy to stay and fight for his place.
“He played on a very, very high level. That was real Champions League level,” he said.
“We all want him to prolong, and he also wants that, I am very positive about it. The club, we all want that.”
