Song left to join the Spanish champions back in 2012 following an impressive final campaign at the Emirates Stadium, but has so far been unable to oust Sergio Busquets from his starting role and coach Tata Martino has often struggled to fit him into to his line up in another position.

The 26-year-old has been tipped to make a return back to England over the summer, with Manchester United believed to be taking a great interest in him, however, it is his former side that may be able to get a jump on his signature as they have first refusal on him.

That means they would be able to match any bid on the player and have the right to speak to the Cameroon international.

Song was a popular player during his time in North London and could look to rejoin his former side after seeing his career stall at the Nou Camp.
