The 23-year-old caught the eye last season by being one of the club’s star performers during their march to the Champions League quarter-finals, and has continued that good form into the current campaign, even though the club have not been able to hit the same heights.
He formed part of a key midfield trio with Isco and Joaquin under the now Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini and he is said to be willing to listen to offers coming in from England.
Malaga have found themselves mired by a number of financial problems and may need to consider selling off some of their remaining stars in order to keep the creditors at bay, putting a number of top sides from across Europe on high alert.
And a source close to the Anfield club are now claiming that Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the £13m-rated star because he is versatile enough to fit into his plans for the squad over the coming season.
“The manager wants more depth in the middle of the park and Camacho ticks the boxes,” the source said.
