Londoners keen on adding French ace.
Tottenham Hotspur are said to be lining up a surprise move to sign Aly Cissokho from under the feet of fellow Premier League giants Liverpool, according to Football Direct News.
The France international is currently on a season long loan at Anfield from Spanish side Valencia and has reportedly caught the eye of several top sides following an impressive campaign.
Recently Cissokho spoke out about his future and insisted that he is keeping his options open, but Liverpool are said to be hoping that a deal to keep him at the club beyond the end of the current season can be struck, and they are still favourites to do so.
However, Spurs have been looking for a new left-back for some time now, and have apparently identified the 26-year-old as the man to fill that slot. It would also weaken a direct rival, which would only serve as a bonus.
But a club insider claimed that the White Heart Lane club face a tough task to bring him in.
“I can’t say too much at this stage, he’s at Liverpool for the time being and they’ll want to keep him,” a Tottenham source said.
“He’s one of several options we’re looking at, but it’s not in our hands at the moment.”
