La Liga giants Valencia are set to turn their back on a summer move for Liverpool striker Iago Aspas and will instead look elsewhere to boost their front line, according to Football Direct News.

Aspas was brought in by Brendan Rodgers over the summer after impressing with Celta Vigo, but has struggled to make an impact in the English top flight by bagging just one goal in 11 appearances across all competitions so far.

On top of his poor form he is also having to compete with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge for a place n the starting line up and their prolific antics in front of goal has made it increasingly difficult for him to break through, and he has been widely tipped to make a swift exit from Anfield just 12 months after joining.

However, one potential suitor, Valencia, have decided to move on to other targets as they continue to look for a suitable replacement for Roberto Soldado, who himself left to move to the Premier League last summer.

The 26-year-old has a deal with Liverpool that expires in 2018 but he is valued at around £6m.
