Anfield side chase South American starlet.
Liverpool are keen on snapping up talented young Argentine Juan Iturbe with Football Direct News claiming the Anfield side are already in talks with FC Porto over a potential summer deal to sign the attacker.
Iturbe is currently enjoying a loan spell at Serie A side Verona and Liverpool are ready to offer £13m for the 20 year old.
The youngster has been a regular in Andrea Mandorlini’s side this term, making 20 Serie A starts, but a move to the Premier League may prove more enticing to Iturbe than a permanent switch to Verona.
Should Brendan Rodgers secure a top four finish then a move to join the Merseyside club will be all the more tempting and a move for Iturbe will adhere to Liverpool’s youthful transfer policy and help boost the club’s options in the final third.
One imagines that both Fabio Borini and Iago Aspas could leave Liverpool in the summer and loaned in winger Victor Moses hasn’t done enough to warrant a permanent switch, hence the need to supplement the club’s attack.
Iturbe has scored five Serie A goals this term and is on the fringes of a first senior Argentine national team call-up.
