Anfield side chase German international.
Liverpool are readying a summer move for Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng as Brendan Rodgers seeks to strengthen his defence according to Football Direct News.
The 27 year old is an able performer at both centre-back or indeed as a full-back and whilst one can see why Rodgers would be keen to sign the former Man City man one does have to wonder why Boateng would consider leaving the Allianz Arena.
Boateng played an important role in his side’s treble winning success last season and has been a virtual ever present under Pep Guardiola as the Bavarian club continues it’s march to yet more silverware.
The German international has four years to run on his current contract and would therefore cost Liverpool a huge sum and frankly the chances of pulling off such a transfer seems slim to none.
Rodgers is right to consider defensive additions, with his back-line proving very leaky in recent months, luckily this hasn’t been such an issue as scoring goals at the other end, with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in prolific form, has led to Liverpool mounting a genuine title challenge.
