Liverpool could be set to miss out on Marseille midfielder Andre Ayew as he reveals that he never asked the club to let him leave despite persistent speculation surrounding his future, according to Football Direct News.

The Ghanaian international has been linked with a £10m move to Liverpool, and their Premier League rivals Newcastle United since before the January transfer window.
And the sides were given hope at being able to bring him on board as he has just a year left on his current contract, and with no new offer on the table the French giants could be tempted to cash in on him now instead of losing him for nothing next summer.
However, Ayew has insisted that he is not thinking about next season and is instead solely focussed on making a strong finish to the season with Marseille. The 24-year-old then said that only once the season was out of the way would he consider what his next move would be.
Marseille have been in terrible form this season with rumours dressing room disharmony disrupting the team.
