Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has set his sights on highly rated Swiss teen Michael Frey according to the Daily Star.

19 year old striker Frey has been scouted by the Anfield side four times in 2014 alone and Rodgers is ready to make a £5m move for the Swiss Under 21 international as he seeks to strengthen his attack whilst also adhering to his youthful transfer policy.

Frey is also being pursued by Juventus and Borussia Moenchengladbach and is contracted to Young Boys until 2016 so may prove a tough nut to crack.

The powerful 6ft 2in forward may well suit the confines of the overly physical Premier League environment and Rodgers may well look to offload the likes of Iago Aspas and Fabio Borini to make room for the youngster.

Frey has netted 15 goals for Young Boys in 70 appearances, of which 30 were from the bench.

Whilst clearly Rodgers can rely upon Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge as his first choice striking options he could well do with effective back-up options this summer, especially if the club looking to fight for honours on multiple fronts.
