Halilovic was due to sign for the Spanish giants in the summer, but Fifa’s ban on Barcelona making any new signings for two transfer windows has thrown the deal up in the air.

The 17-year-old is being tipped as one of the brightest players in Europe and has been tipped to reach similar heights as current Barca star Lionel Messi.

It is believed that Halilovic penned a five-year deal with the Catalan giants in a deal worth £1.8m with him heading to the Nou Camp in the summer, but Barca had been accused of breaking the rules of signing international players under the age of 18.

However, the recent ban handed to the Spaniards by FIFA means that clubs like Manchester City and cross city rivals United have been alerted to the possibility of being able to still do a deal for him.

The Croatian playmaker is already a key component of the Zagreb team despite his age and is one of the hottest properties in Europe.
