The Old Trafford outfit will reportedly offer the Serie A giants a choice of either €31m or €15m plus the Japanese playmaker.
Hamsik has been a key player in Naples since arriving from Brescia in 2007 but the Slovakian has seen his influence wane under Rafa Benitez this season.
Last term, the 26-year-old scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists for the club but this term he’s completed just three league matches, notching up just six goals and five assists.
The playmaker was an unused sub at the weekend as Napoli beat Lazio 4-2, and it seems unlikely Benitez would be able to resist such a big sum for a player who is not a regular starter.
But it seems equally unlikely Hamsik is the kind of player needed by David Moyes and United. The Slovak international prefers to operate in the number ten role, which is already overstocked at Old Trafford, with Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney and Shinji Kagawa competing for one spot.
