Anfield manager Brendan Rodgers could well do with strengthening his central midfield options and he could do with some added steel as currently this is only really provided by Lucas Leiva, who has had a fair few problems with injuries of late.
The 25 year old has started just nine Premier League fixtures this season and may well be tempted by a move to table topping Liverpool, not least because he would then secure Champions League action but would also team-up with fellow countrymen Lucas and Philippe Coutinho.
Tottenham have a wealth of central midfield options and could well opt to consider offers for the former Internacional man, who moved to the north London club in an £8m deal back in the summer of 2010.
