Louis van Gaal (Netherlands)

The current Netherlands national team boss is currently the joint favourite to be the new Manchester United manager after having recently expressed a desire to end his glittering managerial career by coaching in the Premier League next season after finishing his two-year spell in charge of the Oranje following this summer’s World Cup in Brazil.

The only negative to the appointment of the 62-year-old former Ajax, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich trainer is that he will not be able to take up the vacant role until Holland exit the tournament in South America, which could be as late as July.

However, the positives for the Red Devils are that they would be hiring one of the most successful club managers in Europe of the past 20 years.
