The 20-year-old right winger has impressed in fits and starts for the Toffees this season despite being mainly used as an impact sub by boss Roberto Martinez.
Deulofeu is close to his compatriot, however, and reportedly wants to continue his development at Goodison Park, rather than return to Catalonia where his chances are likely to be limited.
Barca were set to recall the youngster following their FIFA transfer ban but the suspension of that ruling means the club are likely to splash out on a number of new signings this summer after a disappointing campaign domestically and in Europe.
Deulofeu has scored three times and provided three assists in the league for Champions League-chasing Everton this season and could face his parent club in the competition next season, just as Atletico Madrid’s on-loan Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois recently played against the Blues.
