The Merseyside giants have reportedly already made a bid of £20m for the highly rated young England international, who has just enjoyed an eye-catching campaign in midfield at St Mary’s.

And now it is being claimed by the red top that the 26-year-old held a face-to-face meeting with Southampton’s executive director Les Reed on Friday night where Lallana pleaded to be allowed to move to the Reds when the summer transfer window reopens.

Lallana has been in sparkling form in this campaign f0r Mauricio Pochettino’s high-flying outfit, with the playmaker having so far managed to register an impressive nine goals and eight assists in total in his 37 Premier League outings for the club.

And it is that kind of attacking form that has not only resulted in the wide man winning his first-ever England callup earlier this season, but also now seemingly a move to Liverpool this summer too.
