Napoli Boss Rafa Benitez Linked With Move to Replace Tottenham Manager Tim Sherwood

Napoli boss Rafael Benitez expected to be approached by Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham Hotspur are considering making an approach for former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez, according to The Metro.

Sunday’s home game against Aston Villa is likely to be Tim Sherwood’s last in charge of Spurs.

Chairman Daniel Levy is widely expected to sack Sherwood regardless of the result.

Ajax boss Frank de Boer is thought to be Levy’s top target to replace Sherwood, but the White Hart Lane club are reportedly losing hope of landing the Dutchman.

Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino is also among the favourites to be Tottenham’s next boss, but The Metro claim that Spurs could sound out Benitez in the next few days.

Benitez is currently in charge of Napoli and guided the Naples side to victory in the Coppa Italia final earlier this month.

The Spaniard, 54, has twice managed in England before.

He won an FA Cup, a Community Shield, a UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup during six seasons at Liverpool.

Last season, Benitez took charge of Chelsea on an interim basis for the final sixth months of the campaign.

He guided the Stamford Bridge club to third place in the Premier League table and also oversaw their Europa League triumph.
