The Argentina international has been cited as one of the Blaugrana squad tipped to leave Camp Nou this summer and he recognises a clear-out could be on the cards.

Barca currently lie just three points behind surprise leaders Atletico going into the final day, and Mascherano has hinted that not even bringing the title home will prevent a heavy change of personnel.

“The match against Atletico will be electric,” he told Canal Plus.

“We just have to enjoy the build-up during the week and then the game itself; above all because it will decide the league title.

“Also, it could be the last game that some players play for Barca.”

Club stalwarts Carles Puyol and Victor Valdes have already made it clear that they will be heading for the exit doors this summer, and many believe that a new centre-bakc will be the club’s top priority – meaning that Mascherano could make way for whatever fresh faces Barca may bring.
