Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus has dashed Manchester United’s hopes of bringing him on board this summer by insisting that he has no intentions of leaving the Bundesliga side, according to Sky Sports.

United have been consistently linked with a move for the 24-year-old throughout the second half of the season as Dortmund lose yet another star player in the shape of Robert Lewandowski.

Reus joined Dortmund in 2012, and has lived up to his billing at the Signal Iduna Park with 30 goals and 25 assists in his 62 matches for the club.

Many have tipped United, or another interested party to activate the €35m release clause in his contract this summer, but the player has sought to put distance between himself and a move to the Red Devils.

“It’s safe to say I will be playing for Borussia Dortmund also in the 2014/2015 season,” he told Kicker-Sportmagazin.

“Basically I do not need to stress all the time that I am feeling great being with the club.

“As far as leaving (Borussia Dortmund) that is no issue for me, and I am not affected by it (the transfer release clause).”
