Chelsea’s brilliant goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, on loan at Atletico Madrid, has still to play the UEFA Champions League final after winning La Liga.
22-year old Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois, who has been on loan at recently crowned Spanish champions Atletico Madrid, is still not sure whether he will be called up by the Blues next season to take up the goalkeeping responsibilities at Stamford Bridge.
Courtois has been excelling at the Vicente Calderon over the last 3 seasons on loan from Chelsea, and despite playing a pivotal role in the Spanish side’s recent triumphs, Blues boss Jose Mourinho is yet to take a decision on his future. Chelsea currently have 31-year old Petr Cech as their No.1, and although reports recently suggested that Mourinho would replace the Czech international with the Belgian, Courtois insists that his future at the West London club is not sorted yet.
Speaking about his future, the former Genk starlet told talkSPORT, “I’m not sure yet. We’ll see what happens. First of all, we’ve still got an important game next week and then afterwards it’s the World Cup.”
Courtois currently has more pressing and urgent commitments than his future at Chelsea though as he gears up to face arch city rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend, and will then board the plane to don the gloves for Belgium at the World Cup.
