Anfield side chase San Siro ace.
Liverpool are reportedly readying a surprise bid for AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli according to Football Direct News.
The 23 year old has had an up and down time of it since returning to his native Italy 18 months ago and could well be set to leave the San Siro after a raft of off and on-field incidents that have left his future at AC Milan very much in doubt.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen his attack and a move to bring in the former Man City man to support Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
Such a move would be quite some statement of intent and would greatly aid the club’s push to not only mount another Premier League title challenge but also help in their return to the Champions League.
Rodgers is ready to offload Fabio Borini and Iago Aspas to make room for Balotelli who despite his troubled time at AC Milan has scored regularly.
Since moving to AC Milan in January 2013 Balotelli has netted 30 goals in 54 appearances and has plenty of Premier League experienced from his Etihad Stadium days.
