Having seen another Allianz Arena target, Thomas Muller, sign a new Bayern Munich contract it appears incoming Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal is keen to move in for the kill with regards to the hugely respected German international.

The likes of Michael Carrick, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher and Marouane Fellaini may all be fearing the axe after decidedly average campaigns in 2013/14.
Schweinsteiger has racked up 473 appearances for German giants Bayern Munich, securing no less than seven Bundesliga titles as well as a Champions League triumph.
