Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has declared that he wants Thibaut Courtois as his first choice goalkeeper next season and is willing to listen to offers for Petr Cech as a result, reports Goal.com.

Courtois has spent the last three seasons on loan at Atletico Madrid from Chelsea, establishing himself as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers and winning La Liga, the Copa Del Rey and the Europa League in the process.

Cech has remained the first choice goalkeeper at Chelsea throughout this time and the debate is now raging over which of the two is the superior stopper. Mourinho appears to have come down on the side of the 22-year-old Belgian, which could spell the end for Cech at Stamford Bridge.

It is reported that Chelsea are willing to rip up the current contract Courtois has with the club and replace it with a new five-year deal on significantly better terms.

This would signal a major change in the Chelsea first team where Cech has been a fixture since arriving at the club from Rennes in 2004. He has turned out nearly 500 times for the Blues and at 32-years-old he still has plenty to offer at the top level of the game.

If Mourinho does indeed let Cech go, along with the likes of Ashley Cole and Frank Lampard, then there will be a long queue of suitors for his signature.
