Barca fail in attempts to land Juve midfielder.
Barcelona have reportedly failed in their efforts to persuade Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to make the move to the Nou Camp, according to Tuttosport.
The Catalan giants are on the hunt for new signings in midfield this summer after agreeing to sell Cesc Fabregas to Chelsea, while veteran playmaker Xavi could also be set to end his long association with the club.
Sevilla’s Ivan Rakitic is expected to complete a move to Barca in the coming weeks, but it is now being claimed that the La Liga runners-up also made an approach to former Manchester United youngster Pogba.
The 21-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the world at the moment, and has been linked with a big-money return to the Premier League on many occasions in the last few months, but he is supposedly not interested in making the move to Barcelona.
The French international may look to continue his development at Juventus for another season, though the Italian giants’ interest in landing Barca’s Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez could still see him involved in an exchange deal.
Still, Pogba himself will seemingly hold out for a move elsewhere if he does not extend his stay in Turin.
