Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone set to head out on loan once again.
A host of Football League clubs are battling it out for the loan signing of young Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, according to reports from Sky Sports.
Johnstone, who is yet to make a senior league appearance for the Red Devils, has enjoyed temporary spells with Oldham Athletic, Scunthorpe United, Walsall and Yeovil Town, but it was last season with Doncaster Rovers where the 21 year-old stopper really caught the eye in the Championship.
The ‘keeper signed a new three-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford in January, but United are thought to be willing to once again allow Johnstone to leave on loan due to the fact that he remains behind David De Gea, Anders Lindergaard and Ben Amos in the pecking order.
Championship sides Fulham, Ipswich Town and Birmingham City have all been proposed as potential destinations for Johnstone, with the latter having form with young Premier League players having taken on United’s Jesse Lingard and Liverpool’s Jordon Ibe last season.
Johnstone is widely regarded as one of the most impressive young goalkeepers in England, having been capped for his country from Under 16 through to Under 20 level, although he is yet to make it past the bench when it comes to making his bow for the Manchester United first team.
