Arsenal and United targets could swap places.Atletico Madrid are hoping to win the ahead of a number of top clubs to sign Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona, and will offer Miranda as part of an exchange deal, according to Tuttosport.
Diego Simeone is desperate to bring in new attacking players this summer after losing both Diego Costa and David Villa in quick succession, and has reportedly identified Sanchez as the ideal player to come in and improve his squad.
The Chilean international, currently on World Cup duty in Brazil, was a stand-out performer for Barcelona in 2013/14, but could be one of several big names to make way this summer as new manager Luis Enrique is tasked with revamping the club’s struggling squad, which finished the campaign trophyless.
Cesc Fabregas has already left for Chelsea, and Sanchez could be the next to move with the likes of Arsenal and Juventus thought to be chasing him, though Barca could also be tempted by an offer to land Miranda as part of the deal.
The Brazilian centre-back was rock-solid for Simeone’s side as they won the title this season, and has been linked with a move to the Nou Camp before, as well as with Manchester United.
A host of English teams could be left disappointed if this deal goes through, but it would be an intriguing change for the two La Liga title hopefuls for next season.
