Manchester United are trying hard to broker a £40 million deal for Juventus’ star midfielder Arturo Vidal, reports the Manchester Evening News. The Red Devils though might not be able to land the Chilean on a straight cash deal and might have to send their outcast winger Nani the other way to persuade the Bianconeri to sell.
Juve have long been holding an interest in the 27-year old Portuguese, which could work in favour of United, who are looking to beef up their midfield with the signing of a complete midfielder in Vidal.
Vidal too reportedly does not mind a switch at this stage in his career and prefers a move to Manchester United over other Premier League side. While Nani is very much an expendable player at Old Trafford following a poor last couple of seasons, it remains to be seen whether Manchester United would be willing to match Juve’s cash demands for 27-year old Vidal.
There were some reports suggesting that Juve want around £40 million plus Nani for Vidal, which could get the English giants to back off from the pursuit.
