United close to signing world class midfielder.
Manchester United have made significant strides in their efforts to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal after having an offer for the player accepted, according to the Daily Star.
The Chilean World Cup star has long been a target for the Red Devils as well as other top clubs in this transfer window, and it is now claimed that United have been an offer of £32m-plus-Patrice Evra accepted by the Italian champions.
Reports in the last few days have suggested that Evra wants a move to Serie A, and it seems that Juve are also keen on adding him to their squad for next season, whilst giving up on the prospect of keeping Vidal at the club.
Although United have already signed Ander Herrera to add to their midfield, the addition of Vidal as well should put Louis van Gaal’s side in great shape for next season as they look to re-establish themselves as a force in English football.
Vidal, 27, has been one of the best midfield players in Europe for the last few years, and caught the eye on the biggest stage this summer with some fine displays for his country at the World Cup finals in Brazil.
