Former Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou could be set for a return to the Premier League, with the Mirror reporting that Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton have shown an interest in the Lille player, as well as Arsenal.
The Ivory Coast international enjoyed a superb season for the Ligue 1 club as they secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the season, but it looks as though Lille are now ready to cash in on the player they picked up on the cheap from Stamford Bridge.
AS Roma and Galatasaray are both reported as having lodged bids for the player, but Kalou is holding out for Premier League interest to become serious, as a return to England is the preferred option of the player.
Kalou enjoyed a relatively successful spell at Stamford Bridge, often finding himself amongst the goalscorers despite sometimes being criticised for the limitations within his all-round game.
Arsenal are believed to be the player’s first choice, but it is reported that Arsene Wenger’s interest in the player is unlikely to be taken any further, leaving a move to Merseyside as the most likely option.
Both Liverpool and Everton are believed to be on the hunt for reinforcements – but the potential financial clout of the Reds after the Luis Suarez sale may just swing it in their direction.
