Swansea star chooses White Hart Lane switch.Tottenham Hotspur look set to win the race to sign Swansea City left-back Ben Davies ahead of Liverpool, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old is one of the most highly rated young defenders in the Premier League at the moment, and has been the subject of much transfer speculation for the last few months as he looks likely to leave the Liberty Stadium.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool have been in the market for new signings at left-back, but it seems that the Reds’ interest in Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno has persuaded Davies that he would be more likely to get first-team football at White Hart Lane.
Spurs have matched the Swans’ £10m valuation of the Welshman, and are seemingly ready to guarantee the player that he will be first choice in their back four next season, while Liverpool have not quite shown the same commitment.
It was thought that Davies could opt for a move to Anfield due to Brendan Rodgers’ side being able to offer Champions League football for next term, but the player is keen to ensure he continues his progression by playing regularly.
The youngster could be close to finalising a move to Tottenham, becoming Mauricio Pochettino’s first signing since taking over at the north London club.
