Reds to announce striker signing as Rodgers eyes more additions.Liverpool are expected to announce the signing of Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy in an £8.5m deal today after the striker passed a medical with the club, according to the Daily Mirror.
The loan signing of Spanish youngster Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid is also likely to be confirmed today, with more transfers in the works as the Merseyside giants prepare for next season.
The French international has agreed terms on a move to Anfield, signing a four-year contract with wages of £80,000 per week, having also been linked with the likes of Arsenal in recent months.
Liverpool had been in the market for new signings upfront with the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, and manager Brendan Rodgers will be hoping Remy can help fill that void, along with fellow new-boy Rickie Lambert, who arrived from Southampton earlier in the summer.
Rodgers could be set for another raid on Southampton as well, as the club target a move for Croatian defender Dejan Lovren, and he could be followed by other big-name targets in Juventus star Arturo Vidal, and highly-rated Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno.
Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus is also being considered as an alternative to Vidal, with Liverpool keen to show their ambition after the blow of losing Suarez.
