Reports in Italy are claiming that the Reds have targeted the 22-year-old and are ready to meet with Inter officials to discuss a possible deal to bring him to Anfield.
Icardi has already been linked with leaving Inter this summer, with Stoke City and Monaco both credited with an interested in snapping him up.
However, the player’s agent has moved to suggest that the player is keen to remain at the club.
“Icardi is 100% with Inter and now just wants to win at Inter,” Albian Morano said.
It remains to be seen whether interest from Liverpool could cause the young hit man to change his mind about moving on. He had been included in Inter’s pre-season tour of the United States, though he will likely face competition from Dani Osvaldo, who is set to join on loan from Southampton.
The Reds are keen to add a new striker to their ranks following the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona, though they have seen a move for QPR ace Loic Remy break down due to undisclosed reasons.
