La Liga side sign Emirates Stadium star.
Barcelona have officially completed the signing of Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen.
The Belgian joins the Catalan giants having spent the past 18 months acting as a back-up to Arsene Wenger’s first choice central defensive pair of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

The deal is said to have cost the La Liga side £15m and sees new boss Luis Enrique bring in some much needed defensive reinforcements.
Vermaelen moved to the Emirates Stadium in 2009, signing from Ajax for a fee of £10m, and went on to make 150 appearances for the north London side.
He signs a five-year deal at the Nou Camp and becomes the second big money defensive signing for Luis Enrique this summer, following Jeremy Mathieu from Valencia.
