Old Trafford boss Louis van Gaal has told United chiefs to land the 27 year old Chilean as a matter or urgency, as long as he passes a stringent medical.
Vidal has already agreed personal terms with the Premier League, said to be worth £182k a week, and ongoing talks could see the World Cup star complete a move to Man United in the coming days.
The former Bayer Leverkusen man has recently returned to Turin after his World Cup exertions and has told friends he wants to join Man United though the player’s long term fitness may prove an obstacle.
Vidal was forced to have a knee operation at the end of last term.
Vidal has played a key role in Juventus’s three successive Serie A title winning campaigns, scoring 28 goals in domestic league action alone over the course of those triumphs, and appears to have set his sights on an exit from the Turin outfit ever since former boss Antonio Conte left the club in mid-July.
