Spurs have already completed the signing of defender Federico Fazio this week but boss Mauricio Pochettino doesn’t appear to be finished with his summer transfer dealings.
According to reports Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with making a controversial move for the former Arsenal midfielder after he fell out of favour at the Nou Camp. Song spent seven years with arch-rivals Arsenal, but Tottenham are now said to be leading the chase.
Meanwhile, Pochettino remains keen on brining Welbeck to White Hart Lane, after the England international was told he could leave Man United by boss Louis van Gaal.
Hull and Newcastle have both been reported to be keen on his signature, whiles Sunderland, who had taken the 23-year-old on loan during the 2010/11 season are also trying to stake their own claim for his signature.
However, with Tottenham’s need for a new striker ahead for the new campaign they could be tempted to outbid their Premier League rivals to land his services.
