The search for a new goalkeeper continues, but one of their targets is becoming increasingly available.
Liverpool target Neto is still a long way away from signing a new deal at Fiorentina and reports in Italy say that he has rejected their latest offer.
The Reds have changed their mind on Victor Valdes, and their reported interest in Brazilian Neto has hugely strengthened his negotiating position, even if he does want to stay in Florence.
Sky Sports Italy’s transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio reported the news on his site, and it has since been taken up by a variety of news outlets.

The Merseysiders have grown increasingly concerned over the poor form of Simon Mignolet over the last 12 months, and will almost certainly look to bring in a new stopper in the January window.
Whether it will be Neto or not remains to be seen, but the rumours emerging from Italy at the moment certainly seem to indicate it’s a possibility.
The South American was recently called the best keeper in Serie A by former Fiorentina and Italy goalkeeper Giovanni Galli.
After two years on the bench, the successive departures of Artur Boruc and Emiliano Viviano to the Premier League finally gave Neto the chance to start for la Viola. Now it seems he could soon be following in their footsteps.
