Borussia Dortmund are willing to part with Mats Hummels.
Manchester United and Arsenal could be able to land the signing of world class central defender Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star, if they are willing to part with a huge fee of £47 million.
Hummels is one of the most in-demand players in Europe currently with a number of clubs having identified him as a potential solution to their problems at the back, whilst Dortmund’s dreadful performances in the Bundesliga so far this season could also mean that the former Bayern Munich man is more likely to move on once the transfer window reopens in January.
Both Arsenal and United have looked particularly weak in defence so far this season and could be set to battle it out for the signing of the classy German international, who has been missing from Joachim Low’s side during this international break due to injury.
The Gunners have seen huge issues after an injury to Frenchman Laurent Koscielny in recent weeks, whilst United’s huge spending in attack has not been matched by their commitment to strengthening at the back so far, with the likes of Chris Smalling struggling hugely.
