Aside from the majestic Alessandro Del Piero, fans of the A-League have had to put up with nine seasons of mostly rubbish set piece attempts, but the tenth anniversary of the competition is producing the goods.
Perth’s Nebojsa Marinkovic has been the standout free kick taker this season, but his teammate Scott Jamieson curled a left-footed 30-yard strike into the top corner against the Wanderers that would have even left the Serb applauding.
Jamieson’s strike was matched – if not bettered – by Central Coast midfielder Glen Trifiro on Sunday against Melbourne City.
