Gunners eyeing up Stadio Olimpico duo.
Arsenal could be lining up a double raid on Serie A giants AS Roma this January, with recent reports suggesting two of the club’s star players are on the Gunners’ agenda for the next transfer window.
Arsene Wenger’s side look in something of a mini crisis this season, with Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat to Manchester United putting them 8th in the table and seeing them endure their worst start to a season for 32 years.
It is clear that some major changes will need to be made to the side this winter, with the team looking short in a number of positions, though this £50m double raid could certainly go some way to fixing the problems if Wenger can pull it off.
In what would be a hugely ambitious double deal, it has been suggested that Arsenal could be looking to sign these two Roma players this January:
1) Mattia Destro
According to a recent story from the Daily Express, Roma’s young Italian striker Mattia Destro is a £20m target for Arsenal and would welcome the chance to make the move to the Emirates Stadium. Chelsea are also mentioned as possible suitors for the talented 23-year-old, who could be an improvement on Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud upfront.
