The 28-year-old playmaker has been linked with a number of top clubs recently, with speculation growing that he could be set to depart the Ligue 1 big-spenders in the near future.
Moutinho only joined Monaco from Porto as one of many big-name players brought to the French side last summer, but with Radamel Falcao also moving to Old Trafford this season, it could be that more of the club’s stars will be heading for the exit door.
Arsenal want the Portuguese international to replace struggling club captain Mikel Arteta, but United are also known to be in the market for creative midfield players this January, having also been linked with a number of other big names.
Tottenham are also in the running for the £24m-rated player, who looks like having the quality to succeed in the Premier League after a long and fine career around Europe and with his national team.
It remains to be seen who will be favourites to seal this deal, but Moutinho seems likely to head to England this winter.
