The Victory deem the ground at North Sydney Oval to be unsafe, and will not risk playing injury-prone players such as Gui Finkler and Scott Galloway tomorrow night.

“Under the circumstances and where we have to play, there’s no point trying to get them up this week, there’s too much of a risk to their body,” he said.

“Taking them to play on a cricket pitch is probably not the best idea.”

Muscat even went as far as saying that his players would play within themselves to make sure they do not get injured.

“Everyone has got a different definition of safety and it’s quite clear to me that the definition of safety is that you’re able to do everything in your powers as a player – run as quick as you want and not have a fear of being injured, turn at high speed,” Muscat said.

“The players don’t think they can do that so basically they’ll run around with the handbrake on tomorrow night.

“It’s a workplace environment, and our employees are asking us to find out about the surface and we’ve asked in vain and until today we haven’t received anything.”
