Midfielder William Carvalho angling for a January Premier League move.
Reported Arsenal and Manchester United target William Carvalho has revealed that it his “dream” to play in the English Premier League, report the Mirror, as his agent Jorge Mendes looks to arrange a January transfer to English football from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.
The report suggests that Sporting will be happy to listen to offer in excess of £20 million for their star asset in January with Carvalho, a player who has long been rated as one of the most sought after young midfield players in the world game, finally looking set for his big move away from the Portuguese capital.
A powerful defensive midfielder who is able to control the midfield on a good day, Carvalho acquitted himself well in Sporting’s return to Champions League action this season, despite a heartbreaking exit to Schalke in the group stage, and the time now looks right for him to look to move on.
Carvalho is represented by super agent Jorge Mendes, who has facilitated a number of big moves away from Portugal for world renowned stars, and the player himself told the Portuguese press that, whilst a move to the Premier League was his preference, he had left Mendes in charge:
“My dream is to play in England. I know some clubs are interested but my agent Jorge is looking after it and I am relaxed.”
