Fenway Sports Group will not sell the club insists Ian Ayre

Chief executive Ayre says that despite reports suggesting otherwise, the current American owners of the Merseyside outfit have no interest in selling up.

It was thought that with the redevelopment of the ground FSG would sell the club and also oversee the departure of some more high profile and expensive players.

“Fenway are not going to dispose of the club as they are clearly demonstrating,” Ayre was quoted by the Mirror.
